There are several options open to you; if you are experienced then you could purchase a hosting package, design and code your own website. This would involve managing your hosting account, fixing bugs in your programming, checking your design is compatiable across all the major browsers and various other jobs that you would need to undertake on a day to day basis.

Alternatively you could subscribe to a 'get your own website' hosting package, in this instance you would not need to worry about your website hosting. Generally hosting companies only offer a basic or limited website creation tool which may look appealing initially but you would soon become annoyed with the lack of features and support offered.

You could technically move your website away from our servers although you would need to replace or remove any forms, rss feeds, forum, survey and other features.
